Women’s buhurt in Australia

Women’s buhurt starts here.

No armour. No combat-sport background. No need to wait until you feel “ready.”

Valkyries gives women a structured way into the sport of buhurt at Tyr’s Warriors in Toowoomba. You will learn the movement, weapon control, conditioning and teamwork that underpin full-contact armoured combat.

New fighters begin in soft kit, where skills can be developed progressively before moving into steel armour. Whether you want a new physical challenge, a committed team or a route to competition, there is a place to begin.

01

Start without armour

Begin in accessible training gear and learn the fundamentals before investing in a full kit.

02

Build real skills

Develop footwork, control, fitness, striking and grappling through progressive sessions.

03

Progress to steel

Move into armoured training when your skills, equipment and confidence are ready.

04

Compete your way

Work toward team melee or individual buhurt disciplines, locally and beyond.

More than a training group

Strength, skill and sisterhood.

The Valkyries train as part of the wider Tyr’s Warriors club: a family-oriented community built around discipline, teamwork and the love of medieval combat.

This is a place to train hard, back your teammates and discover what you can do under pressure. Competition is there for those who want it; growth begins the moment you walk in.

Team buhurt

Learn to move, communicate and fight as a unit in armoured melee formats where teamwork matters as much as individual power.

Individual disciplines

Develop timing, control and ring craft for one-on-one formats, with training that supports your own goals and pace.
